    The Australian Labradoodle was originally bred from a Standard Poodle and a Labrador Retriever. The Australian Labradoodle was also crossed with the Irish Water Spaniel and the Cocker Spaniel.

Size

  • Step 1:
    The standard-sized Australian Labradoodle is between 21 and 24 inches tall. They weigh an average of 50 to 70 pounds.

Health

  • Step 1:
    As with many breeds having long furry ears, the Australian Labradoodle is prone to ear infections. The standard-size Labradoodle may be susceptible to the hip dysplasia common among larger breeds.

Life Expectancy

  • Step 1:
    The average life expectancy of an Australian Labradoodle is 13 to 15 years.

Temperament

  • Step 1:
    Australian Labradoodles are generally patient, affectionate and highly intelligent. Their intelligence makes them easy to train if training begins early and remains consistent.
