How to Sell Sugar Gliders

  • Step 1:
Check with your state laws about the legality of owning and selling a sugar glider. Although they are not endangered, they are protected. It is illegal to own one in Australia without a permit. You cannot sell them without a license there.
  • Step 2:
Place a classified ad online or in a newspaper. This option is for a person that simply wants to get rid or can’t take care of their own personal sugar glider. It’s not for breeders. Make sure you have bought your sugar glider from a reputable source and have the animal’s papers with you for when you sell it.
  • Step 3:
Become certified to breed and own sugar gliders. The USDA has recently changed its laws about how many sugar glider females capable of breeding you can have. The information about the law is posted at the link below, as well as information on how to get your sugar glider license in America.
  • Step 4:
Advertise yourself as a licensed sugar glider salesperson. If you want to share the pleasure of owning a sugar glider, you need to let people know that you have them. Post ads on the Internet, in the phone book or on billboards. Anywhere you can get your name out there is good for business.
  • Step 5:
Sell the sugar gliders and offer the buyers the papers to them. Sugar gliders are becoming increasingly popular as domesticated pets in the United States, as they are usually quite friendly. There quick movements are fun and pleasant for many families.
