How to Buy Hunting Decoy Accessories

Instructions

  • Step 1:
Get a hunting decoy body bag, like the Avery 6-slot full-body decoy bag for goose decoys. A decoy bag is a great way to round up and protect your decoys before and after you place them out in your hunting area. If properly cleaned after use, your decoys can be stored in the bag during the off-season with no damage.
  • Step 2:
Check out the decoy retrievers available. Cabela's offers a telescopic decoy retriever and Avery offers a great adjustable length one. There are many to choose from and are an essential item for your decoy kit.
  • Step 3:
Purchase decoy anchors and install them to keep your decoys in the area you put them. This is also a great way to protect your investment and keep them from floating away.
  • Step 4:
Buy a decoy paint kit to keep your decoys looking new and life-like for years to come. A touch up after every season will protect the existing paint by taking care of any chips they may have gotten.

Tips & Warnings

  • Talk to your hunting buddies to ask if they use decoys accessories and which ones they recommend. Often your best resource for anything is someone else who used the product.
  • Satisfaction guaranteed from a company does not mean that if you don't get anything you can return it. The decoys and their accessories can only get you so far in your hunting success; the skill of hunting is up to you.
