How to Buy a Giga Pet

Step 1:
Find a retailer that sells Giga Pets. You can find these virtual pets sold in most toy stores or discount retailers. They are often located next to other virtual pets like the Tamagotchi.
Step 2:
Choose the type of Giga Pet that you want. You can find a frog, cat, scorpion, alien and monkey Giga Pet. Pick the pet that most appeals to you.
Step 3:
Purchase a handheld Giga Pet. This is the most basic Giga Pet that is available for purchase. It is a portable game that you can take anywhere and care for the pet at anytime.
Step 4:
Consider the TV game that goes along with the Giga Pet. You can buy an optional plug-in game that brings your Giga Pet to life on the TV. With the game, you can explore Giga Island and also meet new friends that are not available on the handheld versions.
Step 5:
Grab extra batteries when you buy your Giga Pet. The game requires 3 LR44 batteries. They are included, but you may want to have additional batteries on hand if you expect to play it often.

Tips & Warnings

Giga Pets are usually recommended for children who are 7 or older. At this age, they can better handle the responsibility of taking care of a virtual pet.
The Giga Pets and Giga Pet games are designed for one player. However, you can connect your Giga Pet to other handhelds for interactive play.
