How to Convince Your Wife You Need a Puppy

  • Step 1:
Tell your wife about your childhood experiences with a puppy. Perhaps you never had a puppy when you were younger and you want to make up for that as an adult. Maybe you desire to have a puppy that is similar to the one your family had years ago. Whatever the case may be, this is a great starting point for you to express the importance of having a puppy in the house.
  • Step 2:
Be willing to compromise with your wife about what kind of puppy to buy. If your wife has a favorite breed of dog, this could be a very easy to get a puppy into your house. This way, the puppy can be something that is very important to both of you.
  • Step 3:
If you have children, get them in on the act. What wife could say no to both a husband and a child asking for a puppy? Having your children on your side will greatly increase the chances of you getting that puppy.
  • Step 4:
Place pictures of puppies around your home so your wife sees them constantly. You could, for example, pick up a dog magazine and place it strategically in your home. You could also make your computer background a picture of a beautiful puppy.
  • Step 5:
Send your wife emails and clippings of advertisements for puppies in your areas. You’ll want to make sure that the puppies you find in these advertisements aren’t too expensive. It’s also helpful if these ads have pictures of the puppy that is available.
  • Step 6:
Introduce your wife to a puppy of your choosing. This can be as easy as taking your wife to a local pet store and playing with a puppy. Chances are that your wife won’t be able to resist once she holds that cute puppy in her arms.
