How to Deal With Being an Animal Rights Activist

By CatsEyeEditing

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Step 1:
Deal with your emotions right away. Don’t be afraid to see a counselor in order to face your emotions properly.
  • Step 2:
Keep a journal of all of the things you have done to help animals. Include conferences, donations, parties, abstaining from meat, etc.
  • Step 3:
Sign up to online forums where other animal rights activists talk. Express your concerns, thoughts and feelings. Maybe someone will offer valuable advice, especially if they have had long-term experience in the field.
  • Step 4:
Adopt or rescue an animal. Having an animal as a companion will be an everyday reminder of the animals you have helped. Plus, it always feels good to have someone to spoil.
  • Step 5:
Set time aside for yourself and indulge in a massage or other spa treatment. When you neglect yourself, it makes it harder to help animals in need.

Tips & Warnings

  • You are only one person and can only do so much.
  • Sometimes it’s beneficial to separate your animal activism side from your personal life.
