Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Dog soap
  • Bathtub
  • Dog treats
  • Dog toys
  • Step 1:
Use food, especially their favorite like hot dogs or salami to help coerce them in there. Not that many dogs will resist this treat. It might take more than one piece to get them all the way into the bathtub. They will be happy about the treats and you will be happy because it was so easy to get them in there.
  • Step 2:
Pull out their favorite toy; this works well for younger dogs. Some of them have it as a security blanket and they do not like to go anywhere without it. For older dogs you can try a bone that they are always chewing on. Take these into the bathtub with you and this should hopefully convince your dog to get in there with it.
  • Step 3:
Change into a swimsuit and jump in the bathtub with them. This actually helps to calm them down and get them to relax a little bit because you are in there with them. They might consider this more play time than bath time. If it is really warm and nice outside you can give them a bath outside using a kiddy pool.
  • Step 4:
Pick up your dog and put them in the bath. This is a last resort and this is sometimes what it comes down too. No matter what else you have tried they just will not get in there. If you have more of an aggressive dog, be careful not to hurt yourself or the animal.
