Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Step 1:
Use scissors to clip the dog's whiskers if you choose.
  • Step 2:
Remove extra shed hair during the bath by brushing the dog's coat with a rubber brush. Bullmastiffs don't shed very much hair, so it shouldn't be a hard task.
  • Step 3:
Apply a final coat conditioner after you've shampooed your Bullmastiff. The conditioner improves your dog's overall appearance. Rub it gently into the coat and brush it in as evenly as possible. Shampoo the dog infrequently to keep from irritating the skin.
  • Step 4:
Brush the coat with a hound brush while drying.
  • Step 5:
Clean the dog's furrows using a piece of cotton coated with eye makeup remover.
  • Step 6:
Dry the dog's furrows entirely after the bath. Apply talcum powder within the furrows.
  • Step 7:
Trim the dog's nails regularly and check his feet often to make sure they are in good shape.

Tips & Warnings

  • Bullmastiffs have a life expectancy of under 10 years.
  • Female Bullmastiffs generally weigh between 100 to 120 lbs., while the males weigh 110 to 133 lbs.
  • Exercise your Bullmastiff regularly if you live in an apartment.
  • Bullmastiffs average 8 puppies per litter.
  • Bullmastiffs commonly suffer from cancer, hip dysplasia, tumors, boils on the lips and eyelid problems.
  • Bullmastiffs commonly bloat, so it's a good idea to give them 2 or 3 small meals a day instead of one large one.
