Instructions

  • Step 1:
Watch your dog's movements throughout the house. He will begin exploring his newfound territories almost immediately. This may include an accident or two from excitement alone.
  • Step 2:
Show your dog where she is supposed to go potty outdoors. By taking her outside frequently, you will help to train her mind on where she needs to be when she needs to potty.
  • Step 3:
Tell the dog, "No" in a firm but calm manner if you see him potty in the house. A sudden, "No" from you can stop the accident in midstream, allowing you to pick him up immediately.
  • Step 4:
Take her outside immediately to continue her potty break. This will train her mind and body that she is supposed to be outside to potty.
  • Step 5:
Clean the new accident spot immediately with a pet friendly accident remover. This will help to remove any odors so the dog will not be enticed to come back to the same accident spot.

Tips & Warnings

  • Do not hit a dog because of an accident. Abuse will not encourage a dog to do what you want and may increase the number of accidents he has.
