How to Hug a Cat

By Ryn Gargulinski

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Cat
  • Catnip
  • Soothing and sneaky embrace
  • Step 1:
Call the cat over by offering some delicious catnip.
  • Step 2:
Make sure the cat is wholly engaged in the catnip before you softly pet him.
  • Step 3:
Lay on your stomach with your head facing the cat and slowly bring your arms around the side of your head towards the cat.
  • Step 4:
Use your hands to embrace the kitty, while speaking in soothing tones. If he doesn’t scratch your eyes out, move closer until you can embrace it.

Tips & Warnings

  • As much as you may want to pick a cat up for a hug, it’s not a good idea unless you have one of those rare cats that tolerate embraces.
