How to Identify the Grison

Instructions

  • Step 1:
    Recognize its shape. The grison looks weasel-like. Its legs and tail are short and its body is long and muscled. it has small feet and eyes and long claws.
  • Step 2:
    Recognize the grison's size. They are just over two feet long on average, including the tail. They weigh between 2.2 and 6.6 pounds.
  • Step 3:
    Recognize the grison's coloring. They are a silvery gray along the back with a black underbody. They have distinctive facial coloring with a black mask bordered by a thin white stripe at the top.
  • Step 4:
    Compare the location of the animal you are looking at with the grison's geographical range. Grisons are found in Southern Mexico and in central and south America
  • Step 5:
    Recognize the sounds a grison makes. Grisons make snorts to communicate. They can also make growls when alarmed or threatened.
