How to Join an IT Professionals Networking Group

Step 1:
Talk to your colleagues and other IT professionals whom you know to see if they are members of any local networking groups. If they do not belong to one but are interested, ask them to help you with a search for a networking group.
Step 2:
Find your state or regional association, such as the "Information Technology Association of America." Many of these associations offer admission to networking events as part of their membership fees.
Step 3:
Call you alma mater to see if there are any networking events that are held for alumni. Inquire with the administration office, IT department and any IT or computer-related honor society groups on campus.
Step 4:
Look online for professional networking sites such as "Networking for Professionals" or "LinkedIn" where you can find and meet other IT professionals online for impromptu networking.
Step 5:
Use the Internet to find networking sites especially for IT Professionals in your area. These sites help members get new resources and build personal skills by networking from the comfort of their own homes.
Step 6:
Form your own IT professionals networking group by contacting local IT professionals who would be interested in getting together on a regular basis and networking.
