Instructions

  • Step 1:
Exercise your dog outside before putting him in the crate. Give him time to run and play and defuse some of his energy. Give him time to go to the bathroom before being crated.
  • Step 2:
Take your dog out of the crate when you get home and walk her outside.
  • Step 3:
Let your dog plenty play outside to release the energy that he stored while crated.
  • Step 4:
Calm your dog before bringing her back into the house after playing. Put her back on her leash and slowly walk once or twice around the block. Talk quietly and pet her. Tell her she is a good girl or give her a treat to reward her behavior as she calms down.
  • Step 5:
Walk the dog calmly into the house on a leash. Keep him on the leash if he doesn't stay calm when you take him off. Play calmly with your dog or sit quietly and pet him. Remove the leash when he is calm.
