How to Make Beta Fish Bigger

Instructions

  • Step 1:
    Keep a betta fish in a tank of at least three gallons. Pet stores recommend tanks of 1 1/2 gallons, but bettas are more content in 3.
  • Step 2:
    Feed your fish frozen bloodworms. Bettas are carnivores and particularly like bloodworms.
  • Step 3:
    Maintain your tank's water temperature at about 80 degrees. betta fish are tropical fish and cool water lowers their immune system.
  • Step 4:
    Keep the tank clean. Each week, replace the water to keep it healthy, clear, and fresh.
  • Step 5:
    Care for only one betta fish in the tank. Betta are territorial and often kill each other if they are in close proximity.

Tips & Warnings

  • Feed betta fish at least 2 small portion meals a day. This prevents them from developing swim bladder disease or constipation.
  • Betta fish that eat plants are extremely hungry. It does not mean they like to eat plants.
