How to Make Sure Your Dog Won't Eat Your Trash

By hugalli

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Grannicks Bitter Apple
  • Step 1:
Immediately throw away uneaten food, especially if it is a snout level. This seems like common sense, but chances are good that your dog will try to snatch anything off a table if it smells good. Eliminate any temptation.
  • Step 2:
Keep your trash can out of reach from your dog. If your trash container can easily be tipped over, move it to a higher location or a room your dog can’t get to. You can’t always be around to shoo your dog away.
  • Step 3:
Instead of throwing unused food away in the garbage can, use your garbage disposal. Put foods and bones that can not go into the disposal into sealable, disposable plastic bags before they are thrown away.
  • Step 4:
pray your trash can with Bitter Apple and you dog will stay away. Grannicks Bitter Apple is an excellent taste deterrent for dogs. It is a bitter tasting spray that people often use to stop puppies from chewing everything.
  • Step 5:
Purchase a trash can that can’t be tipped over. Also make sure the top is very secure if your dog is large enough to reach it.
