Instructions

  • Step 1:
Go for a Walk. Daily exercise with your dog will make them smile. A quick walk around the block, or long leisurely stroll gives them a chance to smell the signals left by other dogs and breathe in some much needed air.
  • Step 2:
Take them to Doggie Daycare. For those that are alone much of the time, a little socialization will make a dog smile. Daycare for dogs is a wonderful way to allow them free time to roam and play with other dogs and helps to tire them out for a nice evening of watching TV or reading with their parents.
  • Step 3:
Train them. A dog who knows what to do, and when to do it, will smile more. Training them to sit and stay and roll over is not only good bonding time between you and your dog, but it gives them a feeling of accomplishment that makes them happy.
  • Step 4:
Give them treats. The way to a dog's heart is through his stomach. Keep healthy treats like carrots or small bite-sized training treats nearby for a quick smile any time.
  • Step 5:
Rub their tummy and ears. The best way to make a dog smile is to rub them. A good belly or ear rub will make them close their eyes and grin from ear to ear.
  • Step 6:
Keep them healthy. A healthy dog is a happy dog. Regular trips to the vet for vaccinations and check ups will definitely make a dog smile.
  • Step 7:
Rescue him. Any dog that has been abandoned or hurt and needs rescuing will smile when they get another chance for a good family. If you don't currently have a dog, or are looking for a companion for a dog you already have, try the shelter or rescue groups.
