How to Make a Winter Bird Feeder

Things You’ll Need:

Pine cones (larger size if possible)
Some yarn to hang them
Couple of jars of inexpensive peanut butter
Bag of bird seed
Old newspapers
Paper plates and spoons

Step 1:
Pore some bird seed on a plate for each child. Put an amount of peanut butter on a plate for everyone.
Step 2:
Give everyone a spoon and let them start to frost the pine cone with peanut butter.
Step 3:
Once pine cone is covered, roll the cone in the bird seed, shake off any excess.
Step 4:
Tie a piece of yarn around pine cone for hanging it in a tree.
Step 5:
Watch the birds visit!

Tips & Warnings

You can tie the yarn on first to make it easier.
