  • Step 1:
String popcorn, raisins and cranberries to form an edible garland.
  • Step 2:
Create edible pinecone ornaments by coating several pinecones with peanut butter, and rolling them in bird seed. Don't forget to add a string for hanging.
  • Step 3:
Slice apples and oranges into rings, and run a string through each one.
  • Step 4:
Use Christmas cookie cutters to cut shapes out of pieces of stale bread, and string to tie the shapes to the tree.
  • Step 5:
Head outdoors to pick and decorate a tree. As a special treat, include a few suet balls (readily available at nursery centers) among your decorations. The birds are sure to appreciate your efforts.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check in on your tree throughout the season, and replenish the decorations as needed.
  • This is also a great way to recycle a live Christmas tree after the holidays. Just drag it outdoors, and decorate.
