How to Organize a Party for Pets

By CatsEyeEditing

Instructions

Things You’ll Need:

  • Invitations
  • Hourdourves
  • Donation box
  • Music
  • Pet toys
  • Treats
  • Step 1:
Send out invitations either by mail or email. Advise guests of the time, place and what to bring.
  • Step 2:
Prepare hourdourves like crackers and cheese, vegetables and hummus and fruit with whipped topping. You can also suggest in your invitations that guests bring a dish.
  • Step 3:
Make creative gifts for the guest’s pets. Create a doggy or kitty bag with a ball, squeak toy, stuffed animal, catnip, yarn, treats, etc.
  • Step 4:
Setup a donation box near your door. Have printed material on the organization that you have chosen to send donations to. Maybe choose a local shelter.
  • Step 5:
Keep in touch with guests. A few days before the party, call your guests to remind them of the party and find out what they are planning on bringing.
  • Step 6:
Have a backup plan. If you are planning to host the party outside on your deck, pet proof the inside of your home just in case. Or you may have to have the party inside if some guests will be bringing their cats.
  • Step 7:
Rent an animal friendly movie like “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” or burn a CD of music to keep guests entertained

Tips & Warnings

  • To lessen confusion, assign certain dishes to your guests so you don’t have two of the same thing.
  • If some of your guests have pet gates, request that they bring them in case you need to block of certain rooms.
