Instructions

  • Step 1:
Raise brine shrimp in your home aquarium. You'll need to fill a container (such as a coffee can) with tap water and chlorine remover. Add a teaspoon of salt water to the mix. Leave the formula overnight.
  • Step 2:
Add brine shrimp eggs to the mixture with a feeding spoon. Aerate the aquarium and wait 24 hours, then check for newborns. You may sell brine shrimp as babies or adults, so continue to raise them if you want to sell larger shrimp.
  • Step 3:
Identify fish stores and pet stores that sell brine shrimp. Small "Mom and Pop" aquarium and fish stores often sell live brine shrimp, so contact them first. Large chains such as Petco don't usually sell live brine shrimp, but always check with your local store in case there's a policy change.
  • Step 4:
Bring the shrimp to the store or have a representative visit your home hatchery. Small store owners will be happy to meet with you at your home aquarium. They always need small, less expensive suppliers.
  • Step 5:
Prepare to sell the brine shrimp to the fish store. Package them in a clear container so the store owner (and his customers) can see them clearly. He can always change the container later. Set your price by checking with other aquarists or websites like Aquariumfish.net
