Instructions

  • Step 1:
Make sure your pet tiger is healthy. If there is one thing nobody wants, it's an unhealthy pet tiger. A tiger with health problems poses not only a public safety and economic risk but also a legal one. If you have a pet tiger, make sure it's completely healthy before you attempt to sell it.
  • Step 2:
Contact a local breeder. Breeders often have contacts to people who want to buy a pet tiger. Get in touch with a breeder who deals with big cats and exotic animals to see if they have a potential buyer for you.
  • Step 3:
Contact zoos. Zoos looking to augment their big cat collections might be interested in buying your pet tiger. If your tiger is healthy and legal and is able to interact with other tigers, a zoo might be a good way to sell your tiger.
  • Step 4:
Speak with conservation agencies. Many conservation agencies are funded with the specific purpose of buying big cats in captivity to free them in the wild. Find a local conservation or animal advocacy agency to see if they're interested.
  • Step 5:
Look international. In the U.S. and other Western countries, selling tigers is a difficult task because of the strict laws concerning exotic pets. Many Middle Eastern and Asian countries, however, do not have the same kinds of law regarding the sale of animals like tigers. Get in touch with a foreign buyer to sell your pet tiger.
