Instructions

  • Step 1:
Hold your gerbil all day long to spoil it rotten. Carry it around in a large pet purse and pockets or just let it have free run of the house. Don't make it stay in its cage all day.
  • Step 2:
Purchase a large cage with tubes to climb through for entertainment and exploration. If your gerbil has to stay in a cage when you are at school or work, make his environment fun in your absence. Habitrails are available in many sizes that you can extend to wrap around the room.
  • Step 3:
Buy every kind of gerbil treat imaginable. There are gerbil muffins, yogurt drops, honey sticks and cookies. You can hang gerbil treats inside the cage or put them in a feeder bowl.
  • Step 4:
Provide your gerbil with lots of toys such as bells, balls to roll around in and wheels to run on. Spoil your gerbil with lots of toys so that he never gets bored playing with one thing over and over.
  • Step 5:
Clean your gerbil's cage every day so that he never has to smell old shavings. Constantly replenish the pine shavings throughout the day so that it stays aromatic.
  • Step 6:
Train your gerbil to use a litter box so that she never has to stay in a cage at all.
