How to Take Care of Your Neighbors' Dog When They're Away

By abbeyroad920

Instructions

  • Step 1:
Find out what sort of schedule the dog is on. Ask your neighbors what times they do certain things, like feed their dog or take their dog out for a walk.
  • Step 2:
Keep to the dog’s schedule as much as possible. Just like a young child, a dog can get very used to a certain schedule. It’s important that you keep that schedule.
  • Step 3:
Take the dog for a walk. With your neighbors out of town the dog will most likely need exercise. Be sure to take the dog for a walk at least once a day.
  • Step 4:
Give the dog a special treat when you stop over, but only if it’s ok with your neighbors. This is a great way for you to earn the dog’s trust.
  • Step 5:
Spend some time playing with the dog. This will give the dog some much needed attention while your neighbors are out of town. It will also help tire the dog out, which will keep him from misbehaving.
  • Step 6:
Bring the dog to your home if he is sad. If you don’t mind doing so, bring the dog back to your home for a little while and give him some attention. He won’t miss your neighbors so much if he’s around you.
