How to Talk to Parrots

Step 1:
Decide what language that you will be talking to your parrot in. It is very important to pick only one language to talk to your parrot in to start with. This is a key step so that you do not confuse the parrot.
Step 2:
Pay attention to the tone and speed at which you and other people speak to an infant. The mind of a parrot is very similar to that of an infant. The parrot's mind will respond best to a slow, sing-song rhythm when you talk to him.
Step 3:
Talk to your parrot in a very conversational tone. To talk to a parrot it is best to repeat full phrases instead of just a single word. The best phrases to use to talk to your parrot are everyday phrases like hello or how are you doing.
Step 4:
Choose only a couple phrases to use when you talk to your parrot. A great example of how to talk to your parrot is that every time you walk into his line of sight say, "Hello Birdie."
Step 5:
Every day repeat these couple of phrases when you see your parrot. Try to equate each phrase with an action that your parrot likes. For example ask the parrot if he would like an orange, every time you give him an orange.
Step 6:
Speak very clearly. The clearer you talk to your parrot, the more words he will pick up.
Step 7:
When your parrot has mastered the couple of phrases that you have been using to talk to him, it is time to begin the process over again. Repeat steps 4 through 7 with every phrase you would like your parrot to learn.
