How to Understand the Different Kinds of Cat Trees

  • Step 1:
A cat tree is sometimes called a cat condo. A cat tree can be purchased in varying heights. If cats could talk, they would tell you the higher the cat tree the better!
  • Step 2:
When you go to look for a cat tree you will find that most of them are made out of wood and covered with carpet. The carpet makes for a handy place for your cat to sharpen his claws. When you are doing your shopping you may find that one cat tree is fancier than another. For instance, one cat tree may come with hidey holes in it or toys attached to it. Another cat tree may be simple and basic and offer the usual climbing platforms with a larger platform on the top for your cat to lounge on. Which one you prefer is a personal choice.
  • Step 3:
The great thing about a cat tree is it enables your cat to follow her instincts. Most people know that cats love to climb. Cats also love to have a birds eye view of what is going on in the household. They may act all sleepy and withdrawn, but most cats are tuned in to what is going on in their home. They can perk up and become involved in a heartbeat. A cat tree enables your cat to climb up to her perch and keep an eye on the activities of the household.
  • Step 4:
If you have canines in your home your cat may lord it over your dogs that she is the queen bee of the home because she has a cat tree. Don’t be surprised if your cat stimulates your dogs into a game of chase only to escape up her cat tree. Once there she will spy down on her doggy family in that clever way that cats do that lets them know that she has outwitted them once again.
  • Step 5:
A cat tree does not take up much horizontal space. You can find cat trees that are very sleek and that match most home’s décor. Cat furniture does not have to be overwhelming, gaudy and cheap in appearance. In fact, a designer cat tower can actually add a little character to your living area--and it certainly will make your cat’s life a lot more enjoyable.
