Instructions

Crate

  • Step 1:
Crate training your puppy is essential for those who work. Puppies will think of the crate as their den, and dogs will not potty in their den.

Dog Sitter

  • Step 1:
Puppies have small bladders and must go potty every four hours on average. Find someone to check in on your puppy and take it out.

Food

  • Step 1:
Feed you puppy dry food. Canned or packaged food contains a lot of moisture and will cause your puppy to go potty more often. It will also create wet and loose stool.

Cleanliness

  • Step 1:
Keep the puppy's crate clean. If it has an accident, clean it up right away. Puppies will potty where they smell urine or feces.

Puppy School

  • Step 1:
Many training schools offer daytime potty training services. They will house break your puppy while you are at work.

Patience

  • Step 1:
Potty training a puppy takes a lot of patience. Expect accidents, and do not punish your puppy for accidents you did not see. If you work long hours, or are short on patience, do not adopt a puppy.
