Create a Potty Training Plan

Step 1:
To potty train your peekapoo with relative success, you will need to create a plan before you even bring your puppy home, if possible. The reason for this is that many peekapoo puppies are hard to train, so if you already have a plan in place, this will allow you to implement your expectations from the moment you meet each other. If you already have a puppy at home, it's not too late; you just need to create your plan now and stick with it.

You might want to consider the crate training method. This plan will require that you buy a crate for your peekapoo. For this type of potty training plan when you cannot keep an eye on your puppy you need to place them in their crate. Upon letting your peekapoo puppy out you need to take him or her directly to the area outdoors where you want them to eliminate on a regular basis. If you do this each and every time the puppy is let out of the crate soon they will begin to realize that this is where they should go all the time.

This is an effective method because your Peekapoo instinctively will not eliminate in their crate. Because the peekapoo is often a hard breed to train it is better to work with instinct than to work against it, which is why crate training often works best.

Be Consistent

Step 1:
When potty training your peekapoo, you need to take him to the place where he should eliminate every hour or so. When you establish a routine like this, it signals to your dog that this is the place he should go every time he needs to. The peekapoo needs consistency, and this is the best way that you can teach it where housebreaking is concerned.

When your peekapoo makes a mistake, and she will, scold her if you catch her in the act. If you do not catch her in the act, just ignore it and hope for success next time. If you do catch your dog in the act, put her outside while you clean the space, to signal to her that this is where she should have gone.

Reward Good Behavior

Step 1:
Just as you must scold your peekapoo when he makes a mistake, reward him when he eliminates in the appropriate place. This will eliminate confusion and will let him know the difference between good and bad, and where he should go and where he should not. The peekapoo is a people-loving breed, so if you shower one with praises, petting and even a little treat when he eliminates, you are giving him the signal that he went in the right place, and he will be more likely to do it again.
