Alaska is a rescue dog. Her previous owners had several other pets and due to Alaska's high energy they couldn't keep her. They simply did not have the time needed to spend with her, so they put an ad in the papers and we answered the ad in our local paper and now she is home. :) Alaska is still young and I was planning on taking her to get her spayed but unfotuneately she went into her 1st or 2nd heat and now we have an unplanned pregnancy, so I will need to keep her healthy and her pups so I can hopefully find good loving forever homes for the pups when they are old enough. I am not sure but I think the father is a JRT (Jack Russel Terrier)cause we had a black, tan & white male in our yard quite a few times and we always had to tell him to go home. P.S. Alaska looks like she is a husky/aussie shepherd mix. Wow what a mix those pups are gonna be, lol. Update: Alaska delivered her pups on Sunday June 27th,2010. ... there are 2 boys and 2 girls. She started delivering the pups at 2pm and was done by 4:30pm. I waited an additional 2 hours to make sure she didn't have anymore pups to deliver. She did lose a couple but she is a first time mom so I'm giving her some slack. Alaska is being a good mom being this is her first litter. It will be her only litter, but don't tell her that (lol). I found a new forever home for Alaska with someone who could spend all day with her and give her the attention she needed that I couldn't always provide. She presently resides in a northern state where she gets to play in the snow in the winter time and a small creek in warm weather.
