Ariel is our 7 year old golden retriever. (but we are starting to think she could be a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, what do you think??) We got her from the veterinary school at a local university when she was 2 years old. She had been in a cage, indoors so long that we had to teach her how to use stairs. She was afraid to be outside sometimes and the TV really scared her. Ariel is the sweetest, most lovable baby girl ever. She loves hugs, tug-of-war, frisbees, shoes and especially tennis balls & belly rubs. Ariel would rather be outdoors more than anything in the world, and the colder the better!! When Ariel first came to our family, she managed to get out of the yard and was hit by a car. =( After xrays we found out that she has a BB lodged in her hip and it had been there for some time. People sure can be evil. She has some health issues(arthritis & eye problems) but she doesn't let it stop her. Ever since her accident she is really afraid of the camera and of moving cars. We have a really hard time getting photos of her with the new pups but hopefully she will feel better about it soon. Ariel has become like a surrogate mommy to Sammy & KC, they love her!! She still plays like a puppy, she just takes longer naps now! Ariel is the biggest, softest ball of fluff and we love her lots!
