Atka is a Husky mix we adopted from out local SPCA. SHe was found walking the yellow line of a highway at around 11:00pm at night. She was only 6 weeks old at the time. She is very lucky to still be alive. We believe she was making her way to us :) We adopted her only two days after the SPCA found her, and she has been with us ever since! She is a very calm and well behaved puppy. She loves everyone she meets and has yet to meet anyone she doesn't like. She has been growing so fast! She weights a little over 40lbs right now. We are trying to decide exactly what mixes she may be. If you have any suggestion please let me know! :)

Awwwwwww! And you're absolutely right - such a fabulous, fluffy, loving pup had to have the brains to make her way to her forever family. Malamute/husky sounds good to me, but whatever the mix, it's the perfect mix! May you all have the best, most loving and fun-filled life together ever!

[Squee!] I can see how this fluffball wouldn't be in the shelter for more than a minute before someone (everyone!) wanted her... HOW was she wandering the highway by her little self at 6 weeks old?!! What's going ON that that was happening??? People are crazy. So glad things worked out for her in the end and she got her loving furever home! She's a doll.

PS. In her more grown-up pics she almost looks like she has yellow lab mixed in with the husky/malamute!

I started out by looking at Chewie's profile and then I just had to see his adorable sister. God bless you for finding these two and adopting them. Atka, what a great bunch of photos. I like this one the most as it is a tiny baby pic and irresistible! Both you and your Chewie are among the luckiest pups ever, surely your Guardian Angels steered you away from harm and into the arms of those who really care. It makes my day to hear GOOD news.
