Belle is a rescue dog, emphasis on the word "rescue". She was found abandoned (or lost)and starving in the woods in southern Va., a friend of mine came upon her while hiking and couldn't bear the thought of leaving her behind. She was so frightened and distrustful that it took him over 2 hours to capture her but perserverance paid off. I adopted her but it hasn't been smooth sailing. Belle definitely has some major PTSD and shows signs of having been abused but with me she is a loving, sweet, loyal companion...every evening she crawls into my lap for some snuggle time. After 5 years she is just now beginning to allow some of my neighbors to pet her...but only if I'm by her side. She has her companion, Dolly, to help her brave the big bad world. I'm so happy to be able to give Belle a safe and loving home. The one thing I'd love to know about her though, is her breeding...any guesses? Update 4/10/11..DNA testing has shown that Belle is primarily Chow Chow w/some German Shepard, and also less than 10% each of Beagle, Sharpei, Rhodesian RIidgeback and Siberian Husky. Thanks for all your input and kind comments!
