This is Biscuit the 7 year old Pug dog. I have had Biscuit ever since he was a little puppy, no bigger than a football! Biscuit as you can see has loved food ever since he discovered it.
Biscuit is a handsome, lovable looking boy for sure. I hope his humans won't mind me mentioning his weight. I wouldn't ordinarily, except for our experience with our own dear pug, Albert, who was quite overweight (we didn't realize how much, as we'd never had a pug before) and developed diabetes as a result.
Diabetic animals are much more vulnerable to infections - we almost lost Albert last month to an unidentified infection - and it's impossible to get health insurance for them, except for accident coverage. All in all, it's been very, very expensive. Our vet said that some owners are forced to euthanize their pets because of the ongoing cost.
Albert' ;s fine now, and at a good weight. We've found it's quite easy to control his weight with low-fat food and treats, including raw veggies. Biscuit might enjoy frozen brussels sprouts -- Albert loves to crunch them!
Again, I hope you don't mind my mentioning this. Pugs are such great dogs, and Biscuit looks like a dear boy.
