Bonded Pair Need Home Together

Chihuahua / Mixed

These dogs were found March 7th and need a home together as they are bonded. Neither dog is spayed or neutered. PetSmart employees gave brief overlook of dogs. They cut female's LONG nails, said her teeth are bad & she is in heat or MIGHT be pregnant (her bottom is swollen). Male dog's teeth are healthy. They also mentioned that they are underweight. *Female=chihuahua Male=larger dog chihuahua/terrier mix?* Housebroken: I've had them for a week and had one accident each from both dogs. First day, male lifted his leg to my couch & female on a rug that was laying on the carpet (thank goodness). They are kept in the laundry room and garage the majority of the day due to my husband's BAD allergies. They are walked 3-4 times a day and doing great holding "it" throughout the day. No accidents during the night time. Personalities: Extremely LOVING & GENTLE!! Give lots of kisses and just want to lay on a lap. Love to be brushed, petted, hugged, held, etc. They seem to have come from the same household because they are so good with each other: grooming each other throughout the day and sleep together. Whimper when they are briefly separated from each other. They don't bark inside at all. Only when walking & they spot another dog. Took them one day to a dog park and they had a blast! Got along well with all the other dogs, just sniffed one another. A couple of times the female of course gave a little growl warning when she didn't want to be sniffed. The male has on several occasions chewed through the leash (running out of length of leash) and one harness. The female has chewed herself loose too from her leash. I've learned to leave them leash free in the laundry room during the night. They whine a bit because they want to be in the house with the rest of us, but the whining doesn't last long. I feel bad that I can't have them roaming around freely in our townhome so my son(6 yrs old) & I play with them in the garage or laundry room. I have a male shih tzu, Chico, and the 3 are fine together in the laundry room and garage. Two times they did "fight" with each when I tried to have them all together in the living room. I took it as the new dogs didn't want to share me with my own dog. As soon as I sat down the two jumped on my lap and Chico walked up too close to us, I guess. My husband said the male dog growled when he petted Chico. Jealousy issue? We have not had any encounters with cats, thank goodness. A couple of times when the two dogs were eating, they "fought" because the female got too close to the male's bowl. .

So cute! I would love to adopt them, but I can't.
