The Adventures of Cooper and Dudley! My name is Cooper and I am a nine week old Blue Merle Australian Shepherd puppy. I live with my friends Dudley, Little Kitty, laying hens Jenna, Liz Lemon, Dot Com and Griz. UPDATE on six month old Cooper. He is quite a challenge. Swallowed the catnip mouse which cost me $750 in vet bills to 'fish' it out through his mouth. Then, a month ago, at five months old, he swallowed five (5) yes, five ounce lead fishing weight balls. My husband was cleaning out his boat and put a large tray of his fishing weights on the floor of the garage and for whatever reason...we will never know, Cooper, unknown to me, swallowed five...that is 25 ounces of lead in his small puppy stomach...or one pound 9 ounces of lead. These are the size of a quarter. He threw up his dinner that evening and having googled his last 'accident' with the catnip mouse, I knew that he might have swallowed something else that is not edible. Found one five ounce fishing weight ball on the floor of the garage and my lightbulb went off. Next morning at the vets it was revealed he swallowed not just one but five...why did he stop at five? Why not six? Cost me another $750 at the vets to have those fished out through his mouth. If Cooper were not such a sweet puppy he would not be very popular at our home and may have found himself at the shelter!
