Miniature Australian Shepherd, male. Brought Lancer home 11-9-12 at 8 weeks old and tubby at 8 pounds. 11-17-12 Personality Update: Lancer's feelings are not easily hurt by any means. He is optimistic and courageous, with a strong spirit and a high play drive, trying to defeat Roscoe in play-fighting at only 9 weeks old. He does not belly-up and accept loss easily, and will keep wrestling until he drops dead. He is sensitive and cunning. He's already proving to be a rather trying puppy to train. Constantly happy, overwhelmingly confident, always enthusiastic, very testing, does NOT accept loss, vigorous, chaotic, forceful, truly believes he is destined to be the center of attention, VERY crafty (has already outsmarted my mom) and too intelligent for such a young age! 3/29/13 Personality Update: Very quick to learn new things under my hand (full of treats) and has a knack for testing the rules over and over, being in his teen years now. In love with sports and physical games, with a deadly intense focus for it that I've never seen before in other dogs. Likes to tease Roscoe, but stops when told. Suddenly became a car chaser and dog barker a couple months ago, but we're working on it quite successfully now with the command "quiet". Unreliable off-leash, strong-hearted, loves to be coddled, and totally activity-oriented.
