All in the Family

Biography: Dakota is a German Shepherd/Labrador Retreiver mix. He has been my foundation dog, in the sense that he has made me a better dog owner, I am more responsible, and knowledgeable than I was previous to owning him. Dakota competes in dock jumping, and recently won his class graduation competition with his first recorded jump of 16,1. He also train for/compete in weight pulling, agility, obedience, rally, bikejoring, oval track racing, and sprint racing. He has been an awesome dog, good focus, high drive, always wanting to do something.(definitley not the dog for an impatient person)He used to be very fearful of people, but I have been working with him, and taking him out to events and making his experience with people positive. He will now walk up to people and let them pet him. At home Dakota likes to play around with the kids we baby set, the 15 month old adores him and always points at him and tries to say Dakota but it comes out "dug tog" He is gentle and calm with the kids, but we still don't leave them unattended together(no dog should be left unattended with a child.) Dakota will entertain the kids for hours, he has endless energy and will happily play tug-o-war or a game of soccer with the kids. Dakota is my rockstar, I am so proud of him and how far he has come!
