My baby boy is almost 9 years old (12/1/01), has had 2 knee replacements and has saved my life twice!!! He is my love, my life & my best friend. His name is Dozer, he has been with me since he was 6 1/2 weeks old and he has never left my side!!!! Dozer was such a butterball that the people I got him from were calling him "Fat Boy Slim". He is half pitbull and half rottweiler, a pit-weiler if you will. His dad is a "Grand Champion" show dog, a black American Pit Bull Terrier named Midnight and his mom was another family pet, a Rottweiler named Mystery. Dozer was an "oops" puppy and therefore cannot be a show dog b/c he is a mixed breed. The litter consisted of 3 pups and Dozer was the only one that survived. As soon as I saw him I knew he was meant to be mine. He has been through so much with me; an abusive marriage, an even worse divorce and alot of personal turmoil. He has held me up through all of it. Without him I don't know if I could have turned it all around. Granted, he has had his troubles too. He has an underactive thyroid condition (hence the weight) and weighs 148 lbs., he has arthritis and early stages of hip displaysia, and he has TWO hind leg knee replacements, which FYI Pet Insurance does NOT cover! I had to get a second job just to make sure he could have his surgeries done (3 months apart) and convince the surgeon to give me a payment plan so he could do the surgeries up front. He has made a miraculous recovery (walks on an underwater treadmill for 30 mins twice a week) and you wouldn't even know he had them done except that it is more difficult to get the weight off now b/c he can't run around like he used to. Dozer has saved my life twice. One time I was choking on food and fell to the floor on my hands and knees, at first he was just licking my face until he realized I was in trouble and he got so scared that he jumped up on my back, yes all 150 lbs of him, and the jump dislodged the food from my throat. Coincidence-maybe, Life saver-definitely! The other time, was after my divorce, I was in the shower and came out to Dozer running back and forth in front of a window like a mad dog, foaming at the mouth, barking, growling, whining, etc. I saw glass on the floor, apparently someone broke a window and tried to come in, until they were surprised by the dog! You never know what COULD have happened, but didn't because of my baby! I live every day for Dozer and he for me. We are two peas in a pod and I love him so much! And now, since Xmas Eve 2009, Dozer has a new "foster" brother. A kitty cat (10 months old) named Tyler. He has feline leukemia so it makes him rather unadoptable, but it is NOT transmittable to dogs or humans, only other cats, so we decided to give him a home & some love. He is just like a little brother to Dozer, he is his SHADOW!!! But Dozer is SO good with him and now he has a little playmate when Mommy is at work! SADLY AND SUDDENLY ON JUNE 3, 2010 MY ANGEL, MY LOVE, MY BEST FRIEND AND MY WHOLE WORLD CAME TUMBLING DOWN ON ME WHEN DOZER PASSED AWAY. I AM COMPLETELY DEVASTATED, I MISS HIM TERRIBLY AND WILL LOVE HIM FOREVER & EVER...
