All in the Family

Biography: Hi! My name is Fliggle, and I am a 5 month old Toy Poodle puppy! I live in Tampa, FL with my mom and dad, Lauren and Jeremy. I also have a big sister named Bijia who is a 15 year old Australian Cattle dog. You might notice my long tail and think to yourself, "Gee, I thought Poodles had short tails with a poof on top." Well, all types of Poodles are born with long tails like labs and dalmatians. Usually, at 3 days old, puppies have their tails cruelly cropped to two thirds their natural length. This cropping is for no other purpose except aesthetic, and is unfair to the puppy! Dogs use their tails as a large part of communication, and docking/cropping tails is not needed! My breeder is very kind and smart, and chose not to crop me or my relatives' tails. Man, am I glad about that! You know, America is one of the only countries that still legally allows this type of alteration on animals, along with ear cropping and declawing cats. Most countries in Europe have outlawed this behavior! Please, think before you crop!!! Anyway... I have a beautiful natural long tail, and I wave it free and long like a flag! My name is Fliggle because that means "little chicken wing" in Yiddish. I am such a sweet little girl and I love meeting new people and dogs. I like to go on walks and for car rides, and I love learning new tricks. I have a pretty pink collar with diamonds on it that my mom picked out, but my dad thinks it looks silly! My family loves me so much and I love to go everywhere with them in a little doggy tote bag!
