Imagine spending the majority of your life tied to a tree and being bred. Then suddenly being shoved into a wire crate one night and abandoned beside a mailbox on a busy road. How would you feel?! Well, we can tell you how Ginger felt... scared!! We are almost certain that she was abandoned on our property which is against the law by a family who had been threatening to take legal action against us because we had rescued their dog from death in the county shelter and would not return him to them. Legally he was OPP's dog, and as such, we refused to place him in a home where he would be tied to a tree and used for breeding. When the family was forced to move from their home, their female dog was found on our property. We are searching for the family and will take action against them for abandonment. Meanwhile, we are diligently working with Ginger to build her self-confidence. She is doing great!! She is learning to trust people and has a best friend, Storm, with whom she loves to run and play in our fenced yard. It is sad that the bull terriers have such a bad reputation in the mainstream public. If people could just meet bull terriers such as Ginger, they would see the sweet, gentle souls that they truly are. It is the mistreatment by humans that result in any breed being abandoned!
