awwww! what a sad story! i'm sorry about Gracie, but maybe you'll see her agian some day.

You're right, you won't ever forget her. No more than I've forgotren Emmy Lou the dog I grew up with. But you will find that you remember the things she used to do and smile. It will be fun to tell people the stories about Gracie. You were lucky to have Gracie. And Gracie was lucky to have you.

I know what you are feeling. It has been almost a year since I lost my best friend Buster and I still miss him so much. But I remind myself how lucky we were to get to spend almost 14 years together. I still miss Teddy also!

Dear Cofiredep, I am very sorry to hear of your loss of Gracie. A little over a month ago, my family suffered a loss like yours, except it was a very sweet kitty named Dixie Lynn who belonged to my daughter Lori(you can see what i wrote of her in the Forum section, under Rainbow Bridge, entitled "Good-bye, Dixie Lynn"). This, however, is about you, my friend, and the loss you have suffered. As I am not supposed to write or religious things on the Daily Puppy, I cannot say what I really want to say but let me say this- when a person like me wants to help someone, they get on their knees and they do something that starts with a "p" and ends with an "y". That's what I'm doing for you, my friend, and I trust you will feel better for it, not because of me but because of the One to whom I'm speaking. I know the hurt doesn't go away quickly; fact is, it never does completely go away, not if one truly loved something or someone but I can say this- it will get better, as I'm sure you've begun to see already. Sometimes, one can even feel a little guilty for feeling better, but don't go there. Just accept the "better" feelings, and days, and move on to tomorrow. Gracie was a beautiful, lovely dog, who's heart, I can tell, belonged to you, and we both know she would want you to feel better quickly, and maybe even consider getting another dog soon. There are many dogs at the local pounds who need good, loving and permanent homes with someone like you to love them all their days. It's something to consider. I have suffered much loss in my life and I have been given a gift of being able to sometimes help those who are suffering by offering encouraging words such as these. That is what I'm offering here. As I read this and looked at the pictures, I broke down to sadness. I am so so sorry for your loss. Epilepsy is common in some dogs. It was difficult for me to read her profile without grief, then I thought how hard it must have been for you. May Gracie rest in peace.

Dear Friend, I cried my eyes out reading the complete bio of Gracie. The love you have for Gracie is so heartwarming. I feel so bad that Gracie had some serious medical problems. I can only imagine how worried you must have been during that time. Gracie has left one of her big paw prints on your heart and that is so special.

Gracie is beautiful. I am so sorry for your loss. I share your heartache as I have also, recently, lost two beloved dogs within six months of each other. May God comfort you.

I am very sorry that you had to put down Gracie, Im sure that you miss her a lot. My dog got put down, my best wishes with you.

I am so sorry for your loss that was horrible what Gracie went though she is in a better place. I had a dog that had seizures also he was on the older side too we didn't have the money to take him to the vet he had them about once a month we just sat by him talking to him to keep him calm though it he died in a house fire in 2005 and his better off thats what I say to myself every time I think of him.
