Hearing those words from the vet first thing in the morning was like nothing I've ever felt. Hobbes was an amazing dog. I can't honestly say he was the perfect dog, but he was the perfect dog for our family. He was my heart. Easiest dog to own and to love. Laid back, absolutely loved people (but not too many at once). He died on March 21st 2010 at 12.5 years old after barely a week of being sick. He acted like a puppy right up until the evening of March 17th. It was the most heart wrenching thing I ever had to go through, knowing that he was alone and we didn't even get to say goodbye. Although it took a long time to accept, I still miss him everyday. I know he is in Rainbow Bridge happy, healthy and playing with all his buddies. And that makes me smile.
