When I adopted Indy, she'd been hit by a car, abandoned at the vet's and taken to a shelter, where she recovered for a month. By the time she was deemed "adoptable," she was very thin and very determined to find a new home -- and she made sure I knew it. But as much as she needed me, I think I needed her more. She was a devoted, loyal, loving friend and she was as smart as they come. When my husband and I got married, she was like our first child and we were both devastated when she died at the age of eleven after a long illness. She gave us many, many happy memories and we will always miss her.
