This is Lassie. She is a 10 year old German Shepard/Collie mix and we've had her since she was 2 years old. We are only guessing the mix based on her looks, but she could be a mix of many breeds. We adopted her from the SPCA and she has been an important part of our family ever since. The name was given to her there, so we decided to keep it! She is Very mild tempered and very nervous at times. We think she was abused before arriving at the SPCA, which might explain her nervousness. She is so lovable, gentle, and kind, and loves to get her belly rubbed! I cannot imagine my life without her in it.

Being nervous is sometimes a trait or German Sheppards. I had a Sheppard/Border collie mix for almost 16 years and she always acted like a shy 2 year anytime there was a loud noise or a new person around.

I didn't know that. That could possibly be the case. The people at the SPCA did seem pretty sure that she was abused. So, I guess it could be either or, or a little of both. She is much better than she use to be, but every now and then she'll jump when she hears a knock, or when someone gets up suddenly.

Oh my! I saw Lassie & she looks just like my dog Sheena who passed away! Never seen another dog that looked like her B4. My Sheena was also adopted & had been abused. So glad you gave Lassie such a good, loving, forever home! Her pic brought back many happy memories of my Sheena! I wish you the very best, Lassie, in your years ahead!
