After our chow passed away this summer, I've been searching sites looking for a new chow girl. Every week I look through all the new dogs at our local shelter. I almost passed by her, but I did stop long enough to note "cute puppy." Then I noticed her tongue. Within two days of seeing her picture she was ours. She hasn't even been here 24 hours and she's fitting right in with her new "brothers." She's about a year old and was a stray -- no collar or anything. However, she's housetrained, loves riding in a car, and gets along with our "boys."
