My first husband and I adopted Luke from the local pound. We wanted a friend for our dog Angel (whose now gone over the Rainbow Bridge). Luke has always been a handful! He didn't become an "adult" dog until after he was 2--but I hear that is common with Labs. But he has always been such a funny and loving dog that we somehow got past a destroyed couch, finding the recliner dragged into the kitchen, siding eaten off the outside of the house, etc. He'd cock his head and give us that "What?" look and we couldn't help but laugh. He's settled in now to be a wonderful adult--approaching senior--dog. He's loyal, protective, sweet, and calm. His sister, Sugar, the Golden, keeps him playing, running, and young.
