Little Maya started her life on October 10 2011 in an Amish Puppy Mill in Illinois. As puppy mills do they tried to sell her to a pet store but were rejected because she was "too old". Thankfully some good people rescued this little angel and this is how she came into our lives. She is oooooh so cute(!)and such a tremendous joy to be around. In a matter of hours she learned to give kisses and not to spare any. Maya loves to snuggle with her people (think on their chest or literally in their lap). She also loves to play pranks to her big brother Mo which consist mainly of stealing his greenies and socks (which he had previously stolen from his dad...what goes around comes around) aaaand most sneaky of all she sneaks inbetween his legs while he eats and manages to eat kibble for grown-ups. Did I mention Maya is absolutely fearless? She doesn't just come down stairs/furniture. She spreads her paws like a flying squirrel and leaps off. She then lands almost like a cat (but do not tell her I said so) and goes on with her day like it was no big deal...And it wouldn't be if she weren't 4lbs. Maya doesn't just love attention. She demands it. When we walk and someone doesn't stop to say hi she just stops sits and waits patiently for the passerby to correct their mistake by rubbing her behind the ears and saying what she already knows - "You are as cute as a button!". Talking about walks...On a rainy cold day you can't get her to move an inch outside. Otherwise she would walk pretty on a leash trying to walk as close as possible to her brother. Sometimes she would playfully run into him hoping to initiate a play. Maya is very considerate and polite with other dogs and gently stands on her tiptoes to sniff their noses. When I see her do this I can't help but think "You are as cute as a button!"
