Nick was originally my foster dog saw him at a local shelter when a friend wanted to adopt a dog, and I went along with her to the shelter. I saw this skinny, brown and white puppy with a spotted belly wagging his tail. I put my fingers through the wire to skritch under his chin, and in the blink of an eye, the puppy threw himself on the ground belly up, wanting me to rub his belly. He had no idea that I couldn't reach that far. I left the shelter without him, because I had no intention of adopting a dog. Three days later, while on a business trip out of town, I could not get that sweet face out of my head. I called the shelter and arranged to adopt him on his very last day. He was due to be euthanized. I picked him up at the vet clinic when I got back into town. The techs at the clinic suggested his nameÃÂ because he was saved from euthanasia the " In The Nick of TimeÃÂ So", Nick came to live with me on a temporary basis while I searched for a Forever Home. Nick wormed his way into my heart early on, and as he grew from a 22 pound skinny pup to an 80 pound tank of a dog, it became apparent that he was going to stay in the family
