Pokey was found in early Sept. 2008 as a stray near an Indian Reservation in Shelton, WA. She had no collar or tags, she was infested with fleas, she was healthy but underweight, and she was in the early stages of pregnancy. She was thought to be somewhere between 9-12 months old. She was taken to the no-kill Adopt-a-Pet shelter, where she was spayed and placed up for adoption as soon as she was back on her paws. She was immediately recognized by the shelter staff as an "exceptional" pup. She got along well with all the other dogs, and she LOVED people, especially children. Before we left with her, one of the volunteers said, "you won't be disappointed by this dog." That was an understatement! She's the cuddliest, most attentive, most nimble & athletic, and most friendly pup we know.
