On a walk one night our Beagle (Clank) found Ratchet, a 9-ounce newborn puppy lying abandoned in a patch of grass. He was only a day or two old. We rushed him to an emergency clinic and were told he was critical. He was hypothermic and they had to slowly begin warming him up and start him on fluids. At first they said, "Okay, we'll notify the Humane Society and they'll take care of it" but then we said, "Well..can't we just keep him?" And thus began our journey with him. He pulled through and we took him home the next day. We had to bottle feed him every two hours, around the clock. He's now a happy, healthy welcome addition to our family. We usually refer to him as a pitbull-mix, but we really aren't sure what he is, aside from awesome. :) We can't imagine our lives without him. He loves playing with (and destroying) his toys, stealing our socks, playing with Clank and sleeping under blankets.
