My husband found Rex wandering the streets. My husband stop to have a look at him as he was limping⦠only to find out he had been hit by a car, had mange and was abused. He was not wearing a collar. My husband brought him home. Axel wasnt too happy about this. We contacted the police and animal shelters, we were hoping someone would claim him. He had throughout the time he was with us a horrible infected ear. We sent him for an operation praying for the best and at the same time neutered him. As time went by he became very protective. He started to get aggressive and attacked one of our friends children. We could not have this with me having 3 step kids. Via a friend we found out that the correctional services required a dog like Rex and assured us he would be looked after and we can visit whenever we wanted. They would first do a full medical. Once they collected him after many hours of tears they called us two days later. Rex had a tumour and that was what was affecting his ear. The tumour was so bad we had to make the choice as he only had a month to live, this was also causing him to be so aggressive. He was an amazing dog, and if only the vets could have picked this up he would still be here today. Rest in peace my big boy and thank you for protecting us! More pics to follow
